Until 30 September 2026, a number of procedures relating to BUPi remain free of charge. Portuguese citizens living abroad can also start the process online through the BUPi platform or the Portuguese Communities Portal, using their Citizen Card or Digital Mobile Key.
Before selling, donating or transferring inherited land, it may be worth checking whether the property has been properly registered and what rules apply in the relevant municipality. A small investment of time today may help avoid unnecessary complications and additional costs in the future.
