As part of the celebrations of Portugal Day, Camões Day and the Portuguese Communities Day, ESCALA Business Club had the honour of hosting an institutional dinner in the presence of His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic, António José Seguro, during his official visit to Luxembourg.
More than a ceremonial occasion, this gathering represented a unique opportunity to bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, institutional representatives and members of the Portuguese community around a shared purpose: strengthening the ties between Portugal and Luxembourg and highlighting the vital role of the Portuguese diaspora in building economic, social and cultural bridges between the two countries.
The presence of the President of the Republic, the First Lady, the Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities, the Ambassador of Portugal to Luxembourg and several Portuguese Members of Parliament gave this initiative particular significance. It was a clear recognition of the importance of Portuguese communities abroad and of their daily contribution to the development and prosperity of the countries in which they live and work.
For ESCALA Business Club, this dinner embodied the very essence of its mission: creating spaces where meaningful relationships are built, ideas are exchanged and opportunities for collaboration emerge. In an increasingly interconnected world, the growth of business communities depends on the ability to connect people, institutions and projects that share common ambitions and values.
These were intense and inspiring days, marked by meetings, conversations and moments of genuine connection that reminded us of the importance of being present where relationships are formed and visions are shared. Beyond the photographs and official ceremonies, it is the conversations, the new connections and the opportunities created that will remain as the true legacy of this presidential visit.
The President’s visit will undoubtedly be remembered for its symbolic significance. It will also be remembered for the message it conveyed to the Portuguese community: that its work, entrepreneurship and contribution to Luxembourgish society are recognised and valued at the highest level of the Portuguese State.
ESCALA Business Club will continue to invest in building these bridges, fostering dialogue, networking and cooperation between business leaders, institutions and communities. Because, ultimately, the relationships we build today are what create the opportunities of tomorrow.
