  • Networking Lunch Strengthens Ties Between CGD and the Portuguese Business Community in Luxembourg

Alongside the institutional programme of the visit to Luxembourg, EBCLP, through its 4Finance Cluster represented by Cluster Ambassadors Miguel Costa and Custódio Portásio, organised a networking lunch at Mar By Opusmer, bringing together representatives of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, including Maria de Lurdes Sousa, Sandra Costeira, Tiago Mergulhão and Teresa Veríssimo, as well as Portuguese business leaders and representatives of various financial institutions operating in the Grand Duchy.

In a more informal and personal setting, the gathering provided an excellent opportunity for participants to deepen their personal and professional connections, strengthen existing ties and foster new opportunities for collaboration across different sectors.

The lunch was complemented by a tasting of Luxembourg wines, generously made possible by Freelance Vins Fins and its Managing Director, Patrick Mackels. This unique experience gave guests the opportunity to discover one of Luxembourg's most renowned winemaking traditions, while providing the perfect setting for meaningful conversations, networking and the exchange of perspectives.

During the lunch, several guests also had the opportunity to present their professional and entrepreneurial journeys in Luxembourg, sharing experiences gained over many years of activity in sectors as diverse as financial and legal services, consulting and entrepreneurship.

These testimonials highlighted the high level of qualifications, expertise and integration of the Portuguese community in Luxembourg, reinforcing the fact that Portuguese professionals today play a significant role in the country’s economic development and hold prominent positions in numerous organisations and institutions. The diversity of the professional journeys presented was also a clear demonstration of the growing importance of the Portuguese community within Luxembourg’s economic and business landscape.

Once again, the initiative reflected EBCLP’s mission to promote dialogue, knowledge sharing and the building of bridges between professionals, entrepreneurs and institutions, contributing to the strengthening of the Portuguese-speaking business community in Luxembourg.
